What is Automated Storage & Retrieval System (AS/RS System)?

Automated Storage & Retrieval System (AS/RS) is one of the intelligent warehouses. The components include warehouse racks, tracked roadway stackers, pallet conveyor systems, size detection barcode reading systems, communication systems, automatic control systems, computer monitoring systems, computer management systems, and other auxiliary equipment.

1. Warehouse racking: The racking system is used to store goods. There are two basic forms: welded racking and plug-in combined racking;

2. Pallets (bins): used for carrying and transporting goods, also known as workstation appliances;

3. Roadway stacker: It can carry out automatic storage and retrieval of goods. From the structure of the roadway stacker, it can be divided into two basic forms: single column and double column; from the way of roadway operation, it can be divided into three basic forms: straight road, curve and transfer car;

4. Conveyor system: the peripheral cargo transportation equipment of the automated three-dimensional warehouse, which can transport the goods from the storage shelves to the stacker or remove the goods from the stacker. There are many types of conveyors, such as roller conveyors, chain conveyors, lifting platforms, distribution vehicles, hoists, belt conveyors, etc.

5. AGV system: automatic guided car. According to its guiding method, it is divided into induction guided trolley and laser guided trolley;

6. Automatic control system: a control system that drives the coordinated work of various equipment in the AS/RS System;

7. Storage information management system: also known as the central computer management system. It is the core of the AS/RS System. It can be networked or integrated with other systems (such as ERP systems, etc.).
