Push Back Racking |
Features include:
High Productivity
Pushback storage provides a very desirable combination of high density and accessibility. Pushback storage is equal or greater than drive-in storage, yet every lane can be accessed at all times. Any lane can be 100% filled from the aisle without affecting any other adjacent lanes above or below. A cost justification analysis will prove that the increased density and efficiency of pushback rack will have a short return on investment, far greater than that of a drive-in rack system.
Stock Rotation
While pushback is a reverse flow storage system that operates on a last-in-first out (LIFO) basis, you can easily rotate your stock on a first-in-first-out (FIFO) basis. You simply never store new lots in front of previous lots. This is much easier to accomplish in a pushback rack because every level of every bay is accessible from the aisle.
Greater System Life Span
Pushback rack systems generally take less abuse than drive in rack systems because the lift trucks are not required to drive into the system. This reduces the great opportunity of rack damage found in drive-in rack systems. Since pushback rack allows you to pick pallets from the aisle the likelihood of damage is greatly reduced, thus greatly extending the lifespan of your rack system.
Lower Cost
Pushback storage, in spite of it's higher initial cost, is actually less expensive than drive-in storage for two reasons. First is the reduction of multiple handling time. Secondly, it takes less pushback rack and less storage space to provide the same storage capacity as a drive-in rack. Consider this, drive in rack provides a typical utilization factor of about 60%. This means that on any given day "honeycombing" in the rack results in a only about 60% of the available spaces being used. Pushback provides utilization of 90% or more if it is correctly applied. To realistically store 1,000 pallets in drive-in you need about 1,600 pallet positions. With Pushback, practically every pallet position is utilized. Than could mean a smaller warehouse is needed, or lessen the need to expand to a larger warehouse. If you contact us we can provide you with a new pushback rack quotation or we often have warehouse liquidations that include large quantities of used pushback racking.
Low Stacked Height
Ebi Metal pushback carts telescope to keep vertical space requirements as small as possible. In a five deep system, for example, vertical differential from the aisle pallet to the 5th is only 5". Ebil Metal's lower vertical spacings may allow you to get more pallets stored within the confines of your clear ceiling height, than the competition allows.
